Home Groups
Why Home Groups?
The goal of Home Groups at Grace Community is to become more like Christ. Christian character is shaped primarily through sharing life in genuine Christian community.
What Happens at Home Groups?
While groups focus on biblical principles of growing in Christ, the emphasis is not on Bible study. Instead, groups discuss concepts and ideas springing from the Sunday morning sermon and seek to apply the message directly to our lives. However, participants who have not heard the sermon are still welcome and will easily be able to connect with the discussion. Each gathering lasts about 90 minutes as we share our needs, pray, eat, and fellowship with one another.
How Do I Join a Home Group?
A Home Group usually begins with 8-10 people, and newcomers may be added at any time. Anyone interested in joining a Home Group may contact Andy Newman (Director of Discipleship Ministries) to determine which available group would be an ideal fit for you.
Where Do Home Groups Meet?
The weekly Home Group meetings are held in the home of one of the members of the group. Each Home Group may decide whether to rotate between group members’ homes or choose one home in which to meet. New group members will be provided with directions to the location of the weekly meetings.
What about Children?
Grace Community places a strong emphasis on the unity of the family in growing together as disciples of Christ. Therefore, children are welcome and encouraged to attend the Home Group meetings and participate in a time of food and fellowship with the other members of the group.
